Guess the Starting XI - Match Six vs. SKC - Eighty Six Forever

Welcome back to the Guess the Starting XI contest, it hasn’t been very long, so it’s like we never left!

Seems like the proposals for the season breakdown went well, so we’ll go forward with those changes. This means that the end of the first quarter will be after the May 22nd matchup against the Houston Dynamo. I’ll deduct the lowest score at the end of each window, so keep that in mind when you look at the current standings.

The Whitecaps played pretty well on Wednesday, but moral victories don’t count when guessing the result. Despite this, a few of our contestants were on the pulse of this one, picking both the result and all 11 starters correctly.

Rolling on to the weekend, squad rotation will once again be a question mark. Marc Dos Santos has not been eager to mix things up so far this year, so the changes could be minimal. That being said, the fitness and health status of Michael Baldisimo, Erik Godoy, Bruno Gaspar, Andy Rose, Caio Alexandre and Leo Owusu could all be factors for predicting the right lineup.

Sporting KC is coming off the back of a disappointing 1-0 loss to the Houston Dynamo, and much like the Loons, will be looking for a bounce back performance against the Whitecaps on Sunday.

Without further ado, here are the rules, and results of the contest to date:

  • Predictions will be ‘valid’ if posted HERE prior to the lineup being officially announced, usually about an hour before kickoff.
  • You receive 1 point for every player you correctly guess to be in the Starting XI. You receive 4 bonus points for correctly predicting all 11 starters.
  • You get 5 points for correctly guessing Win/Lose/Draw, this doubles to 10 if you also predict the right score-line along with the result.
  • That means, if you correctly predict the Starting XI, Final Score, and Winner, you can earn 25 points!

Adblock test (Why?)
