"The Match" will be happening for the fourth time. Unfortunately, this will mark the second time in a row it has happened without Tiger Woods.
Woods is healing from injuries suffered in a Feb. 23 car crash. He hasn't been able to golf since the injury and his timetable for a return to the sport is unclear.
Nonetheless, "The Match 4" will go on, and Phil Mickelson will once again be involved. The 51-year-old became the oldest player to win a major when he captured the PGA Championship in May, and he will team up with reigning Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady to take on Bryson DeChambeau and 2020 NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers.
MORE: How much money will The Match winners make?
Mickelson and Brady were paired for "The Match: Champions for Charity" at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic last year. They lost to Woods and Peyton Manning despite a furious comeback effort. That loss is the only one that Mickelson has suffered in the three previous iterations of "The Match."
Needless to say, Mickelson and the ever-hungry Brady will be looking to change their fortunes against DeChambeau and Rodgers.
With that, here's everything you need to know about "The Match 4," including time, date, TV channel and live stream options.
What time does The Match start in 2021?
- Date: Tuesday, July 6
- Time: 5 p.m. ET
Coverage of "The Match 4" will begin at 5 p.m. ET from The Reserve at Moonlight Basin in Big Sky, Mont. The Jack Nicklaus-designed course is huge and sits at 7,500 feet of elevation. Its signature hole is a 777-yard par-5 that plays significantly shorter than its listed distance because of its highly elevated tee.
The course is set up for Bryson DeChambeau to make monster shots because of its massive elevation changes. He will surely put up gaudy driving numbers. It will be interesting to see how Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers will deal with the elevation changes.
What channel is The Match on?
- TV channel: TNT, TBS, truTV
"The Match 4" will be broadcast on several networks under the Turner Sports umbrella. TNT will be the primary place to catch the match, but TBS and truTV will also be broadcasting the event. Brian Anderson, Trevor Immelman, Charles Barkley, Larry Fitzgerald, Cheyenne Woods and Kevin Frazier make up the broadcast team.
Players will be mic'd up for the exhibition. They will be able to communicate with the broadcast team and viewers will be able to hear their thoughts live as they hit shots.
