The AFL wishes to advise the Match Review of Round Two of the 2022 NAB AFL Women’s Competition has been completed. Three charges were laid and there was one further incident that required an explanation.

Ellie Hampson, Gold Coast SUNS, has been charged with Rough Conduct (Dangerous Tackle) against Grace Kelly, West Coast Eagles, during the second quarter of the Round Two match between the West Coast Eagles and Gold Coast SUNS, played at VU Whitten Oval on Sunday January 16, 2022.

The incident between GWS GIANTS’ Katherine Smith and Fremantle’s Janelle Cuthbertson from the third quarter of Sunday’s game between Fremantle and the GWS GIANTS played at Whitten Oval was assessed. Cuthbertson has possession of the ball in Fremantle’s defensive half, and as she was disposing of the football, is tackled by Smith. It was the view of the MRO that Smith’s actions did not constitute a reportable offence. No further action was taken.
