Ronda Rousey is headed to WrestleMania three years after her last WWE match at the same event. Rousey made a surprise, but rumored, entrance at the 2022 Royal Rumble at The Dome at America's Center in St. Louis, Missouri. She entered the women's Royal Rumble match as the 28th of 30 participants.

Rousey, sporting new ring gear, received the loudest ovation of the match on Saturday night. The former UFC women's bantamweight and Raw Women's champion added Royal Rumble winner to her list of accomplishments by eliminating SmackDown Women's champion Charlotte Flair to win the match. Rousey eliminated multiple other superstars in the Rumble, including Nikki A.S.H. and Brie Bella.

"Rowdy" Rousey has now secured a world championship match at WrestleMania. Currently, SmackDown's champion is Flair and Becky Lynch reigns as Raw Women's champion. The conclusion of the Women's Royal Rumble match teased that Flair vs. Rousey is the most likely direction.

The Rumble winner last competed in WWE on April 7, 2019, at WrestleMania 35. She entered the event as Raw Women's champion, losing her title in a triple threat match with Becky Lynch and SmackDown Women's champion Charlotte Flair. Lynch pinned Flair in the match. Rousey has yet to ever be pinned or submitted in the seven years since her debut.

The match welcomed many other women's wrestlers of the past; however, Rousey's is the most likely to lead to a longer run with the company. Melina, Kelly Kelly, Michelle McCool, Cameron, Ivory (portraying her Right to Censor gimmick), Brie Bella, Impact Knockouts world champion Mickie James, Alicia Fox, Summer Rae, Nikki Bella, Sarah Logan, Lita and Mighty Molly Holly all made rare appearances.

Adblock test (Why?)
