GENEVA, N.Y. – Niagara (6-3) fell to Hobart earlier this afternoon by the final score of 4-3 Sunday afternoon.
Match Recap
Singles
• Manuel Alonso won his No. 2 singles match against Hobart's Harry Lyu, 7-6, 6-4.
• Gurustat Makkar moved up to the third position for the Purple Eagles and won his match in three sets, 4-6, 7-6, 6-1.
• In No. 4 singles, Eduardo Villalpando took three sets to win his match, 6-0, 4-6, 7-6.
• Niagara fell in No.1, 5 and 6 singles as Hobart the two teams split the singles points.
Doubles
• Niagara's duo of Tanner Bedard and Trevor Masi won the No. 1 doubles match, 7-5.
• Hobart took the other two doubles matches to secure the point for the Statesmen.
Niagara Notes
• After starting the season 1-4 in dual match singles action, Alonso has since gone 3-1
• Villalpando won both of his matches this weekend.
• Bedard and Masi improved to 4-2 in doubles action after going 2-0 on the weekend.
