The Privateers (8-3, 1-0) won their Southland opener on Saturday when they swept McNeese 7-0. Last week, New Orleans won a pair of matches by 7-0 score lines as they also accomplished the feat against Loyola.
In doubles, the Privateers continue to be a dominant force. They've won 25 of their 30 matches combined this season. In 11 matches this year the Privateers have only lost the doubles point once (in the season opener against South Alabama).
Lina Hohnhold played her first singles match since Feb. 19 when she returned to the lineup against McNeese and won 6-1, 6-0. Hohnhold was 3-0 last week and is 6-1 in singles on the year. She is also 7-1 in doubles this season.
Mar Gendra currently leads the Privateers in singles wins with eight on the year. Gendra is an undefeated 8-0 at flight five.
New Orleans' midweek road match is a precursor to their next conference match which takes place at home when they face Northwestern State on Saturday.
Louisiana Tech has been rolling, winning 12 straight matches. The Lady Techsters just came off a narrow 4-3 win against Nicholls. Louisiana Tech has been clutch in close contests with five of their 12 wins coming by a 4-3 score line.
