SKYHAWK BEACH VOLLEYBALL UNVEILS 24-MATCH SCHEDULE FOR 2022 - UTM Athletics

MARTIN, Tenn. – Coming off its best year in school history, the University of Tennessee at Martin beach volleyball program looks to replicate that success in 2022 as head coach Jaclynn Wilson released the season schedule today.
           
The Skyhawks will play 24 regular season matches this spring with all but two contests slated to take place in the state of Tennessee. UT Martin will play eight Ohio Valley Conference matches and host five opponents over a 12-day span in midseason, including the inaugural Skyhawk Beach Invitational set for April 1-2.
           
UT Martin officially opens the 2022 campaign with four matches in the Governors Beach Challenge in Clarksville, Tenn. The Skyhawks will take on in-state rivals Carson-Newman and Chattanooga on March 11 before squaring off against ASUN Conference opponents Jacksonville State and Central Arkansas on March 12.
           
Following a March 23 double dual at ASUN Conference foe North Alabama, UT Martin opens league play on March 25-26 at OVC Weekend at Chattanooga. The Skyhawks will face Eastern Illinois and Chattanooga on Day 1 of the event before wrapping things up against Morehead State and Austin Peay on Day 2.
           
All six home matches on the 2022 docket follow as UT Martin hosts the Skyhawk Beach Invitational for the first time (one was scheduled for 2020 but was cancelled). UT Martin welcomes Liberty and Tulane on Friday, April 1 before matching up against Missouri State and Ottawa (Kan.) University on April 2.
           
The lengthy homestand concludes on Wednesday, April 13 when the Skyhawks face North Alabama for their second double dual against each other in 2022.
           
UT Martin goes for one more nonconference tuneup when it takes part in the Govs Beach Bash in Clarksville, Tenn. The Skyhawks will play Jacksonville State and Oklahoma Wesleyan on April 15 before facing ASUN Conference foe Eastern Kentucky and Austin Peay on April 16.
           
The following weekend, UT Martin will head right back to Clarksville for the OVC Weekend at Austin Peay event. The Skyhawks are pitted against Austin Peay and Morehead State on April 22 before taking on Eastern Illinois and Chattanooga on April 23.
           
The 2022 OVC Beach Volleyball Championship will be hosted by Morehead State and is set for April 28-30 as UT Martin will look to advance to the OVC tournament finals for the second consecutive season.
