Spanish football giants Barcelona are set to play their first ever match in Australia on May 25.

Just days after their La Liga season concludes, Xavi's side will head Down Under to take on the A-Leagues All Stars - a team comprising of the best players from the domestic competition

Barcelona have endured a difficult 2021-22 season that will end without silverware and they won't want to slip up again in Australia.

When is the Barcelona vs. A-Leagues All Stars match?

Barcelona will take on the A-Leagues All Stars at 8.05pm (local time) on May 25.

For Spanish fans, that means the game will begin at 12.05pm (CEST) the same day.

In the United Kingdom, the action begins an hour earlier at 11.05am (BST), while for those watching from the United States or Canada kick off will be at 6.05am (ET).

Both teams will also hold an open training session the night before the match.

Where is the Barcelona vs. A-Leagues All Stars game being played?

Barcelona's first trip to Australia will see them based in Sydney with their friendly game played at Accor Stadium.

Otherwise known as Stadium Australia, the venue has a current capacity of 83,500 fans and was opened in 1999 ahead of the 2000 Olympic Games.

Both previous A-Leagues All Stars matches took place at the stadium with 83,127 fans turning out to watch Manchester United claim a 5-1 win in 2013.

Event promoters TEG Sport will be hopeful of attracting another big crowd on May 25.

Barcelona vs. A-Leagues All Stars team news

It's currently unclear which Barcelona players will be making the trip to Australia to take on the A-Leagues All Stars.

Captain Gerard Pique, young star Pedri and American defender Sergino Dest are all currently sidelined with injuries.

Frenkie de Jong has also been linked with a possible move to Manchester United over the off-season.

With less than 48 hours between Barcelona's last La Liga game and this friendly, Xavi will have to manage his team carefully with fringe players likely to get their chance to shine in Sydney.

The A-Leagues All Stars side is yet to be announced but will be coached by former Premier League forward Dwight Yorke

This friendly will be played just days before the A-League Men grand final meaning players from those two sides will be unable to compete.

Wellington Phoenix goalkeeper Oliver Sail, who starred in the competition this season, has also ruled himself out of the match to focus on World Cup play-off preparations with New Zealand.

Barcelona vs. A-Leagues All Stars ticket details

The cheapest adult ticket can be bought for $49, while seats in the Barcelona active support section are also still up for grabs.
