Match Lookahead: Atleti Host Pacific FC on Sunday at 1pm - Atlético Ottawa

Atlético Ottawa are back in action at TD Place this Sunday when they take on Pacific FC. KO 1 PM ET.  JOIN US AT TD PLACE.

Ottawa concluded their three-game road trip with an impressive victory in Winnipeg, making it seven points out of a possible nine on their travels (with a draw against Forge FC and a win in Edmonton).

The last time these two sides clashed at TD Place (May 7), Pacific FC snatched the three points from under Atleti’s nose as Carlos González’s men put on their best-attacking display of the season, but were unable to find the back of the net.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of Sunday’s kick-off:

  • Atlético Ottawa currently sit in third place (level on points with Cavalry FC in second).
    • Pacific FC are currently five points ahead of Atleti, but have played at least a game more than every team in the league (except FC Edmonton).
    • With back-to-back victories on the road, three points on Sunday would mark the first time in franchise history that Atlético Ottawa have won three consecutive matches.
  • Atelti put some demons to bed on Wednesday night when they beat Valour FC 1-0 in Winnipeg, as González praised the performance and commitment of the players.
  • Defending CPL champions Pacific FC are unbeaten in their last four league games.
    • However, in all competitions, James Merriman’s side is winless in the last three outings (drawing with York United twice and Valour FC once).
  • Record head-to-head (all-time): 1W-1D-3L; 4 goals scored, 7 goals conceded

Quotes

  • Carlos González, Atlético Ottawa Head Coach “We’re feeling great after a big victory, it gives us extra motivation, the energy you need to keep going. Of course, we have a small amount of time to prepare the game but we know each other, we know Pacific – having played them about a month ago – and I feel we’re in a good moment to keep doing well with results and to do better without performances.”
