The script for CFL Divisional Final weekend worked out perfectly for the league, who are trying to finish the season strong.
We have two classic rivalries with the Argos and Tiger-Cats, and the Riders and the Bombers.
It’s like the Labour Day weekend for the divisional finals. The interest should be there.
The first match-up is a toss-up. There isn’t much difference between Toronto and Hamilton. In two of their four head-to-head games, it came down to a kick at the end of the game.
The Riders and the Bombers are a different story. Winnipeg is a big favourite, when you see two wins of two touchdowns or more in the head-to-head meetings, you can understand why the Bombers are expected to win.
While there is the discussion about rust building up on the Bombers, I don’t buy it. Winnipeg will be fine.
So what do I expect to see next week during Grey Cup week, well, I foresee a 2019 rematch between the host Tiger-Cats and defending champ Bombers.
For the Riders to be there, they’ll need a near-flawless performance, which is something we haven’t seen at all in the 15 games previously.
